Position Summary
The Insurance Sales Associate develops new business, builds strong customer relationships, and helps individuals, families, and businesses protect what matters most through State Farm’s insurance and financial products. This position combines consultative sales, customer service, and relationship management to achieve agency growth goals while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional who enjoys networking, prospecting, identifying customer needs, and providing personalized insurance solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Generate new business through prospecting, referrals, networking, and community involvement.
- Conduct needs-based insurance reviews with prospective and existing customers.
- Present State Farm insurance products and recommend appropriate coverage solutions.
- Cross-sell and upsell additional insurance and financial products.
- Follow up on internet leads, referrals, and marketing campaigns.
- Develop long-term relationships that increase customer retention and referrals.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales goals established by the agency.
Customer Relationship Management
- Deliver exceptional customer service before, during, and after the sale.
- Maintain regular communication with customers through scheduled account reviews.
- Identify life changes that create insurance opportunities.
- Educate customers on policy coverage, endorsements, and available discounts.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally while maintaining a positive customer experience.
Prospecting Activities
- Make outbound prospecting calls.
- Schedule appointments for insurance reviews.
- Build relationships with referral partners, including Realtors, mortgage lenders, financial advisors, and local businesses.
- Participate in community events and networking opportunities.
- Request referrals from satisfied customers.
Sales Process
- Qualify prospects using consultative questioning techniques.
- Prepare accurate insurance quotes.
- Present recommendations and close new business.
- Handle customer objections professionally.
- Follow up consistently until the sales opportunity is completed.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate customer records within agency systems.
- Document all customer interactions.
- Complete required applications and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with State Farm underwriting and licensing requirements.
- Maintain the confidentiality of customer information.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Active Property and Casualty license or the ability to obtain one
- Active Life and Health license or the ability to obtain one
- One to three years of sales or customer service experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous insurance sales experience
- CRM experience
- Prospecting and cold-calling experience
- Bilingual skills preferred but not required
- Proven track record of achieving sales goals

Compensation $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
